Days Go By (2021)
A series of self-portraits showcasing mundanity, how the bedroom can be a site of creating one’s personality, and self-observation. This series is performing the everyday by taking portraits which seem candid but are actually posed and fictionalized versions of my day-to-day life. The images are inspired by being limited to being in my bedroom for much of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as years of self-documentation and sharing online. Where is the line between fiction and truthful performance? Isn’t every selfie a performance, and a way of showing you myself in a way I want to be seen?
